According to the Associate Vice President for Public Relations, “A university sorority invited Chick-fil-A onto campus on Monday as part of a fundraiser for a local shelter that supports victims of domestic violence.”

As a result of <a href="https://www.nhregister.com/news/article/Chick-fil-A-should-not-be-welcome-on-14571449.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">her complaint</a>, “The university will schedule conversations to better understand and discuss the student, staff, and faculty concerns related to using Chick-fil-A as a vendor.”
Reportedly, during a meeting concerning diversity and inclusion on campus, the campus President Judy Olian “stood by Diaz and welcomed her opinion.” However, Diaz stated, “President Olian may have missed an opportunity to talk about the need for different culture at our institution and ultimately this is not about Chick-fil-A or any other vendor.” She continues, “It’s about what the university stands for.”

<a href="https://www.fredonia.edu/academics/colleges-schools/college-liberal-arts-sciences/philosophy/faculty/Stephen-Kershnar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Stephen Kershnar</a> is a professor in the philosophy department at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Dr. Kershnar’s university profile claims that he has written one hundred articles on topics such as abortion, hell, pornography, sexual fantasies, slavery, and adult-child sex.
Dr. Kershnar is known for his academic attempts to justify controversial stances and illegal acts. Several of his articles include:

In one paper—titled, <a href="https://philpapers.org/rec/KERPAA-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Pedophilia and Adult-Child Sex: A Philosophical Analysis</a>,”— Dr. Kershnar describes moral opposition to pedophilia as “aesthetic.” While acknowledging that many regard “adult-child” relationships as sickening, he states that there exists no clear reason as to whether these judgments are justified or wrong.
In a separate interview, Dr. Kershnar argues that there is nothing immoral about an adult male having a relationship with a “willing” 12-year-old girl.
“Imagine that an adult male wants to have sex with a 12-year-old girl. Imagine that she’s a willing participant. A very standard, very widely held view is that there’s something deeply wrong about this. It’s wrong independent of it being criminalized. It’s not obvious to me that it’s in fact wrong.”

Continuing, Dr. Kershnar then decries the age of consent. He states that it’s “not quite obvious” that restrictions should apply to adult relationships with children as young as one-year-old. He then states that he does not consider there to be a “blanket wrong” for any age.
“One is even if you are looking for a threshold. Let’s say there’s a threshold. I’m making this number up, but let’s say it’s at age 8. Still, that tells you that some adult-child sex is permissible. Second, the notion that it’s wrong even with a one-year-old is not quite obvious to me…So no, I don’t think there’s a blanket period beyond which this is permissible…but yeah, I don’t think there’s a blanket wrong in any age.”

<a href="http://president.wayne.edu/cabinet.php">Ned Staebler</a>, vice-president of economic development at Wayne State, uses his social media to compare Trump and Republicans to Nazis, using the hashtag #NaziInTheWhiteHouse. After House Republicans considered reducing the power of an ethics office, Staebler said that Trump was fostering fascism. After someone pointed out to Staebler that Trump opposed the ethics change, and thus agreed with Staebler, he shifted the discussion to calling Trump supporters bigots.

<a href="https://clasprofiles.wayne.edu/profile/av1179" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Steven Shaviro</a> is the DeRoy Professor of English at Wayne State University. According to his university profile, Shaviro teaches courses such as “Introduction to Film,” “Styles and Genres in Film,” and “Historical Topics in Film and Media.”

Shaviro has been <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/professor-more-admirable-to-kill-transphobic-speakers-than-to-shout-them-down/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspended</a> after he posted on Facebook that it would be better for people to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/college-professor-suspended-far-more-admirable-kill-racist-speaker-protest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kill their political opponents</a> than to protest them. In a now-deleted post, Shaviro wrote:
“So here is what I think about free speech on campus. Although I do not advocate violating federal and state criminal codes, I think it is far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down.”
He added:
“When right-wing groups invite such speakers to campus, it is precisely because they want to provoke an incident that discredits the left, and gives more publicity and validation to these reprehensible views than they could otherwise attain.”

On March 27, 2023, Wayne State president Dr. M. Roy Wilson <a href="https://i.wayne.edu/view/6421b351dfa12?utm_content=" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent an email</a> to students that said,
“We have on many occasions defended the right of free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but we feel this post far exceeds the bounds of reasonable or protected speech. It is, at best, morally reprehensible and, at worst, criminal.” 
President Wilson said the matter had been referred to law enforcement agencies for investigation and that Shaviro had been suspended with pay, effective immediately.

Sister Laura Nettles is an <a href="https://www.viterbo.edu/core-curriculum/vusm-faculty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Religious Studies</a> and Executive Director for Mission and Social Justice at Viterbo University, which claims to be “the only Catholic university in the diocese of La Crosse.”
According to a section on the <a href="https://www.viterbo.edu/mission-and-ministry/catholic-franciscan-identity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> titled “What Makes Viterbo Catholic?”, the university lists its “commitment to upholding the gospel understanding of the sacredness of all human life.”
Sister Nettles has publicly advocated for the creation of a pro-choice club on campus. On August 22, 2022, Nettles <a href="https://www.prolifewi.org/blog/2022/8/25/viterbo-university-to-significantly-curtail-pro-life-activities-on-campus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held a ‘Mission Convocation’</a> for all employees. During this event, an audience member asked her why a pro-choice club was not allowed to form on campus. She admitted that a male student approached her about a “Students for Choice” club, but stated:
“I would love to say yes to the club, but I asked him if he would be willing to consider a different name like a ‘Health Club’ or a ‘Reproductive Rights’ club. What the student described he wanted to do in the club was to really advocate for women’s rights in healthcare to which I said, ‘amen’ to. So the question was whether he would be willing to think of a different title for it but do much of the same work.”

Sister Laura Nettles is an <a href="https://www.viterbo.edu/core-curriculum/vusm-faculty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Religious Studies</a> and Executive Director for Mission and Social Justice at Viterbo University, which claims to be “the only Catholic university in the diocese of La Crosse.”

According to a section on the <a href="https://www.viterbo.edu/mission-and-ministry/catholic-franciscan-identity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> titled “What Makes Viterbo Catholic?”, the university lists its “commitment to upholding the gospel understanding of the sacredness of all human life.”

Sister Nettles has publicly advocated for the creation of a pro-choice club on campus. On August 22, 2022, Nettles <a href="https://www.prolifewi.org/blog/2022/8/25/viterbo-university-to-significantly-curtail-pro-life-activities-on-campus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held a ‘Mission Convocation’</a> for all employees. During this event, an audience member asked her why a pro-choice club was not allowed to form on campus. She admitted that a male student approached her about a “Students for Choice” club, but stated:
“I would love to say yes to the club, but I asked him if he would be willing to consider a different name like a ‘Health Club’ or a ‘Reproductive Rights’ club. What the student described he wanted to do in the club was to really advocate for women’s rights in healthcare to which I said, ‘amen’ to. So the question was whether he would be willing to think of a different title for it but do much of the same work.”

Dr. <a href="https://www.csuci.edu/news/releases/2020-richard-yao-appointed-interim-president-csuci.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Richard Yao</a> is the interim president of <a href="https://www.csuci.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California State University &#8211; Channel Islands (CSUCI)</a> as of November 2021. Prior to his role, he served as the Vice President of Student Affairs for CSUCI, the Dean of Students, the Chief Student Affairs Officer, and a Senior Lecturer in Psychology for Nevada State College.
In a campus-wide email, Dr. Yao implied that Kyle Rittenhouse would benefit from his trial because he is white.
The letter was sent to all CSUCI students as the jury was deliberating following closing arguments. Rittenhouse was on trial for the shooting deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber, and injuries to Gaige Grosskreutz.
Dr. Yao begins by addressing the events that occurred in Kenosha the previous year:
“There is a long and profound weariness that many members of our campus community may be acutely experiencing as we start this week, as the nation awaits the outcome of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We have been in this place before &#8211; too many times and too recently &#8211; but here we are again, awaiting the fate of Mr. Rittenhouse, whose response to the Black Lives Matter protest that broke out in Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake just over a year ago resulted in the death of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injuries to Gaige Grosskreutz, 27.” 
The incident with Jacob Blake that Dr. Yao is referring to occurred the previous year. <a href="https://nypost.com/2020/08/28/this-is-why-jacob-blake-had-a-warrant-out-for-his-arrest/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Blake was already wanted for the sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend</a>. On August 23, police were called to his girlfriend’s residence for a disturbance involving Blake. <a href="https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/kenosha-kyle-rittenhouse-the-rest-of-the-jacob-blake-story/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">As police attempted to detain Blake, he became uncooperative and the officers attempted to place him under arrest. </a>
Police were then forced to tase Blake, who began walking towards his car, which contained his two children. Blake failed to obey their orders to drop <a href="https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/kenosha-kyle-rittenhouse-the-rest-of-the-jacob-blake-story/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the knife he was carrying</a> and was shot as he reached into the door of his car.
Due to the misinformation spread after the shooting, riots soon broke out in Kenosha. The looting, arson, and vandalism that followed resulted in <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/damage-rioting-kenosha-50-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">50 million dollars in damages to local businesses.</a>
<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/kyle-rittenhouse-days-leading-up-to-shooting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Having spent the day cleaning up graffiti in a nearby neighborhood</a>, Kyle Rittenhouse joined several other residents to guard community business against the rioters with AR-15’s.
Several of the rioters—Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz—attacked Rittenhouse as he walked down the street with his rifle. The incident began when Rosenbaum chased Rittenhouse into a parking lot. At this point, Joshua Ziminski—another rioter present—fired upon Rittenhouse with his gun. <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/11/10/kyle-rittenhouse-shooting-a-clear-case-of-self-defense-devine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rosenbaum immediately proceeded to grab the barrel of Kyle’s rifle resulting in Rittenhouse shooting and killing him</a>.
Rittenhouse was then chased down the street by other rioters, including Huber and Grosskreutz. He tripped and was assaulted while on the ground. Huber proceeded to repeatedly hit Rittenhouse in the head with a skateboard and attempted to steal his rifle, forcing Rittenhouse to shoot and kill him.
Grosskreutz proceeded to approach Rittenhouse with a loaded Glock, aiming the weapon at his head in an apparent attempt to kill him. Grosskreutz—<a href="https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2021/11/08/antifa-medic-wounded-by-kyle-rittenhouse-makes-never-before-heard-accusation-from-witness-stand-it-may-backfire-on-him-n1530795" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a member of the ANTIFA affiliated “People’s Revolution”</a>—was then shot by Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse faced charges of homicide, a <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/annakaplan/2021/11/15/here-are-the-charges-kyle-rittenhouse-faces-after-judge-tossed-dangerous-weapon-misdemeanor/?sh=7d99d8b91cee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conviction that would carry a life sentence</a>, but was <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/rittenhouse-trial-jury" target="_blank" rel="noopener">later found innocent by the jury.</a>
Further in his letter, Dr. Yao strongly implies that Rittenhouse is receiving special treatment because of the color of his skin. He proceeds to pose a hypothetical situation, in which instead of a white teenager, a “black 18-year-old” had participated in the “armed response” to the BLM protests in Kenosha. Continuing, he expresses sympathy for “Black, Indigenous, and other people of color” who find it “difficult” to keep from imagining this scenario.
“While Mr. Rittenhouse’s emotional testimony on the stand told a story of self-defense, for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, it may be difficult to keep from imagining how the Rittenhouse story may have unfolded had it happened to be the fate of a Black 18-year-old who answered the call of an unauthorized militia for an armed response to the protests and destruction of property that was occurring in downtown Kenosha.” 
Several of the rioters who attacked Rittenhouse have numerous arrests and convictions: <a href="https://www.wisconsinrightnow.com/2021/03/12/kenosha-shooting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huber was previously convicted for domestic abuse</a>, Grosskreutz had been arrested for <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/11/15/sole-survivor-of-rittenhouse-shootings-has-criminal-past-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">burglary and assaulting his grandmother</a>. Rosenbaum was a <a href="https://townhall.com/columnists/katiepavlich/2021/11/12/the-left-always-defends-the-real-criminals-n2599027" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted pedophile who was on lifetime probation for the anal rape and sexual assault of young boys</a>. A video later emerged of Rosenbaum<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/08/28/kenosha-shooting-victim-seen-in-video-confronting-armed-men/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> aggressively confronting Kyle and calling him the “n-word” throughout the evening</a>.

Despite their criminal records, Dr. Yao proceeds to express sympathy for Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz, lamenting the “trauma” Rittenhouse has caused their families.
“While the jury may begin deliberations in the Rittenhouse trial as soon as today, we do not need to wait until the final verdict to recognize the lives that were lost and the hurt and trauma that families have and will continue to experience in the days, months, and years ahead.” 
Despite the fact that Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz, are not black or persons of color, and no evidence has indicated that Rittenhouse’s actions were driven by racial animus, Dr. Yao still characterizes the trial in racial terms. Stating that, “we do not need to wait for the final verdict,” he reaffirms the university will continue to pursue “racial and social justice.”
“In addition, we do not need to wait until the final verdict to reinforce and strengthen our institutional values and mission of realizing racial and social justice. This process can be exhausting and angering, and there are legitimate reasons embedded in our nation’s history for feeling weary, angry, hopeless, and even cynical. But I call explicitly on each individual member of our campus community to resist hopelessness and cynicism. Weariness can be overcome, but hopelessness and cynicism are signals of defeat.“

Dr. Yao has promoted or developed other racial justice-themed materials under his leadership at the University. In February of 2021, he approved the <a href="https://policy.csuci.edu/sp/20/sp20-02-committee-equity-and-anti-racism.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Policy on Academic Senate Committee on Equity and Anti-Racism</a>, whose explicit goal is the promotion of “equity, anti-racism, and diversity.” The committee exerts enormous influence over the campus; members hold the power to review faculty hiring, retention, tenure, and department bylaws to ensure adherence to the committee&#8217;s stated goals.
Just two months later, Dr. Yao released another message to the student body, titled, “<a href="https://www.csuci.edu/president/2021-04-19-student-message.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In Solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement and Racial Justice.</a>”  The letter credits the BLM movement for the “momentum” created during the previous year for “racial and social justice.”
According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country in the Summer months of 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

<a href="http://ciapps.csuci.edu/FacultyBiographies/frank.barajas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Frank Barajas</a> is a Professor of History at California State University, Channel Islands. Interestingly enough, Dr. Barajas offered extra credit to students who wrote to a state assembly member saying that high fees and tuition psychologically impact them. 

According to <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform</a>, the professor advised his class to do the following:

“In a 1 to 2-page business letter, write your assembly member and/or state senator as to how the high fees and tuition of the California State University impacts you, and your family, not only financially but also psychologically and in other ways. Also include why you believe free tuition would better impact your education.”

Barajas allegedly offered the assignment to students in his History of the United States since 1877 course, a requirement for all history majors at CSU. When asked to comment on the assignment, he said it “does not direct the contents of their letter” and was solely used for extra credit. Further: 

“When asked whether he offers additional extra credit assignments, he described two, one entailing attendance at ‘certain events’ throughout the semester and ‘the review of films of historical import,’ but did not respond to follow-up questions seeking additional details about the alternative assignments.”

Campus Reform provided an update on this assignment after publishing an article on it:

 “Barajas has since disputed the claim that he asked students to ‘include why you believe free tuition would better impact your education.’ He then provided an alternative description of the assignment, which excludes the disputed portion. There are several other differences between the two, which Campus Reform is investigating. We will continue to update this story upon learning more.”

Rosenbaum was a <a href="https://townhall.com/columnists/katiepavlich/2021/11/12/the-left-always-defends-the-real-criminals-n2599027" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted pedophile who was on lifetime probation for the anal rape and sexual assault of young boys</a>. A video later emerged of Rosenbaum<a href="https://nypost.com/2020/08/28/kenosha-shooting-victim-seen-in-video-confronting-armed-men/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> aggressively confronting Kyle and calling him the “n-word” throughout the evening</a>.

Despite their criminal records, Dr. Yao proceeds to express sympathy for Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz, lamenting the “trauma” Rittenhouse has caused their families.

“While the jury may begin deliberations in the Rittenhouse trial as soon as today, we do not need to wait until the final verdict to recognize the lives that were lost and the hurt and trauma that families have and will continue to experience in the days, months, and years ahead.” 

Despite the fact that Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz, are not black or persons of color, and no evidence has indicated that Rittenhouse’s actions were driven by racial animus, Dr. Yao still characterizes the trial in racial terms. Stating that, “we do not need to wait for the final verdict,” he reaffirms the university will continue to pursue “racial and social justice.”

“In addition, we do not need to wait until the final verdict to reinforce and strengthen our institutional values and mission of realizing racial and social justice. This process can be exhausting and angering, and there are legitimate reasons embedded in our nation’s history for feeling weary, angry, hopeless, and even cynical. But I call explicitly on each individual member of our campus community to resist hopelessness and cynicism. Weariness can be overcome, but hopelessness and cynicism are signals of defeat.“

Dr. Yao has promoted or developed other racial justice-themed materials under his leadership at the University. In February of 2021, he approved the <a href="https://policy.csuci.edu/sp/20/sp20-02-committee-equity-and-anti-racism.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Policy on Academic Senate Committee on Equity and Anti-Racism</a>, whose explicit goal is the promotion of “equity, anti-racism, and diversity.” The committee exerts enormous influence over the campus; members hold the power to review faculty hiring, retention, tenure, and department bylaws to ensure adherence to the committee's stated goals.

Just two months later, Dr. Yao released another message to the student body, titled, “<a href="https://www.csuci.edu/president/2021-04-19-student-message.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In Solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement and Racial Justice.</a>”  The letter credits the BLM movement for the “momentum” created during the previous year for “racial and social justice.”

According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country in the Summer months of 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

<a href="https://math.csuci.edu/about/faculty.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jonathan Caravello</a> is a lecturer in math at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). Carevello came into the news cycle in July due to his involvement in protests wherein he allegedly threw a tear gas canister at border patrol agents . 

Caravello <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90VhVob-tns" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> during a Camarillo city council meeting that he had been following US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in attempts to protect illegal immigrants. 

According to the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Caravello “picked up a tear gas canister deployed by border patrol agents and hurled it back in their direction, nearly striking a law enforcement officer in the head. The affidavit further claims Caravello threw the canister multiple times and resisted arrest by grabbing an agent’s leg and refusing to provide his name.”

CSUCI issued a statement on Caravello, calling his actions a peaceful protest and for his release immediately.
“California State University Channel Islands is aware of reports that Professor Jonathan Anthony Caravello of CSU Channel Islands, a legal U.S. citizen, was taken into federal custody during a protest at Glass House Farms in Camarillo.”
“We are currently gathering additional information to fully understand the circumstances of the incident. At this time, it is our understanding that Professor Caravello was peacefully participating in a protest—an act protected under the First Amendment and a right guaranteed to all Americans. If confirmed, we stand with elected officials and community leaders calling for his immediate release.”
US District Attorney (California) Bill Essayli defended the arrest of Caravello, claiming he was not kidnapped in a post on X, stating he was lawfully arrested.

The US Attorney’s Office <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/federal-grand-jury-indicts-cal-state-channel-islands-professor-charge-he-threw-tear" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> Wednesday, “A federal grand jury today indicted a professor at California State University Channel Islands who is charged with throwing a tear gas canister at federal agents executing a search warrant at a marijuana farm in Camarillo this summer. 

Caravello, who has been teaching since the incident with the tear gas canister, is free on $15,000 bond,” the DOJ said. He “is expected to be arraigned in the coming weeks in United States District Court in Los Angeles.”

In a class-wide email—<a href="https://www.tpusa.com/live/leaked-email-from-unhinged-leftist-professor-defies-mask-mandate-directive-at-u-of-nevada-reno" target="_blank" rel="noopener">which was provided to the Professor Watchlist and TPUSA LIVE teams</a>—Dr. Weierich informs students that her classroom will have reserved sections to separate students with and without masks. The first several rows will be reserved for those with masks while those who chose not to wear them will have to sit in the back. Students are required to move seats if asked.

She then proceeds to explain the exam policy for masked and unmasked students. Unmasked students will have to write any questions by hand before stepping back six feet from the instructor.
“For Student Questions During the Exam: If you ARE wearing a mask, please come to the room to ask your question, or wait until the end to ask just before you turn in your exam.” 
“If you ARE NOT wearing a mask, please write your question on your exam, wait until the end just before you turn in your exam, and at that time hand the question to Prof or TA and step back ~6 feet while we read and answer the question.”

On April 2, Alvergue flipped a College Republicans table. This was done presumably in protest of the organization’s effort to promote two GOP campaigns near a polling station. The College Republicans table contained campaign literature and items for Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel and state superintendent candidate Brittany Kinser. The professor’s actions resulted in him being placed on administrative leave. 
According to the <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2025/04/01/uw-eau-claire-professor-placed-on-leave-after-flipping-gop-table/82766199007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel</a>, College Republicans Chair Tatiana Bobrowicz revealed what took place at the table. The Journal-Sentinel reported what happened to Bobrowicz: 
“The man told her ‘the time for this is over,’ flipped the table over and walked away. She immediately called police and filed a report. She said UW-Eau Claire later notified her the man was José Felipe Alvergue, who chairs the English department.”
The University of Wisconsin System and the Office of General Counsel  is &#8220;conducting a comprehensive investigation&#8221; into the incident. 
According to Alvergue’s website, he has published three books of poetry. 
One of the books, published in 2020, is titled “<a href="https://www.jfalvergue.com/work/scenery-8fk98" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scenery</a>.” The book description states the following of Alvergue and the book’s subject matter, which concerns racial supremacy and immigration:

<a href="http://sociology.uoregon.edu/profile/jfoster/">Dr. John Bellamy Foster</a> is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Oregon and editor of the Marxist magazine "Monthly Review.” He advocates a “red-green” alliance to abolish capitalism and considers the collapse of the Soviet empire a setback for human progress. Foster advocates what he calls "the socialization of nature,” explaining that "the more that nature is placed under the protection of people in general through democratic processes that determine the rules of sustainability, the better things are going to be." Government, in other words, should “own” nature.

<a href="https://cas.uoregon.edu/directory/global/all/norgaard" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kari Marie Norgaard</a> is the Director of Graduate Studies for Sociology and a Professor of Sociology and Environmental Studies at the University of Oregon. According to her university profile, “Dr. Norgaard has published and taught in the areas of environmental sociology, gender and environment, race and environment, climate change, sociology of culture, social movements and sociology of emotions.”

In 2012, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2123260/If-dont-believe-climate-change-sick-Oregon-professor-likens-skepticism-racism.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> reported on a paper Norgaard wrote where she “compared skepticism of global warming to racism” and suggested that those who doubt climate change have a “sickness.” Daily Mail writes:
“The professor … argued that ‘cultural resistance’ to accepting humans as being responsible for climate change ‘must be recognised and treated’ as an aberrant sociological behaviour.” 
“Resolving skepticism about climate change alarmists, she added, is a challenge equitable to overcoming ‘racism or slavery in the U.S. South.’” 
Norgaard claims climate change has historically been seen “as either a hoax or fixable with minimal political or economic intervention.” She argues:
“This kind of cultural resistance to very significant social threat is something that we would expect in any society facing a massive threat.” 
In a <a href="https://pages.uoregon.edu/digital/uonews-archive/archive/news-release/2012/3/simultaneous-action-needed-break-cultural-inertia-climate-change-respons.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">media statement</a> issued by the University of Oregon, Norgaard stated:
“Climate change poses a massive threat to our present social, economic and political order. From a sociological perspective, resistance to change is to be expected. People are individually and collectively habituated to the ways we act and think. This habituation must be recognized and simultaneously addressed at the individual, cultural and societal level — how we think the world works and how we think it should work.”

Dr. Joseph “Joe” Lowndes is a <a href="https://polisci.uoregon.edu/profile/jlowndes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">political science professor</a> at the University of Oregon. He writes extensively on right-wing and conservative politics and is vocally pro-Critical Race Theory. He has published many articles and recently co-wrote a book called, <a href="https://www.upress.umn.edu/book-division/books/producers-parasites-patriots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Producers, Parasites, Patriots: Race and the New Right-Wing Politics of Precarity.” </a>

In April of 2020, <a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/157505/morbid-ideology-behind-drive-reopen-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Lowndes published an article</a> in the New Republic bashing conservative officials and citizens alike for their “dangerous views” on COVID-19. In the article, he accuses conservatives in the U.S. House of Representatives of being “pathological” for their refusal to wear masks when voting on the coronavirus relief bill. He also claims conservatives only want the country to remain open to “keep the current wealth stratifications in place and protect the rich from economic harm.”

Many articles and research publications written during lockdowns detailed how <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/13/business/small-businesses-coronavirus.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">small businesses would simply not be able to survive</a> if they continued to be locked down. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-19s-toll-on-u-s-business-200-000-extra-closures-in-pandemics-first-year-11618580619" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a> noted that roughly 200,000 businesses permanently closed because of the pandemic. Lockdowns also caused many people in the United States to lose their jobs - approximately 9.6 million Americans were let go in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Besides “racist”, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJadc6GEfyA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Lowndes also labels</a> conservatives as “conspiracy theorists” (particularly around COVID-19, election integrity, and BLM), “dangerous”, and “self-appointed vigilantes.”  He claims the “foe of those on the right” are opponents defined by race, religion, nationality, and immigrants from the outside. He accuses conservatives as demonizing anyone against their ideals.

<a href="https://www.heritage.org/conservatism/commentary/defining-the-principles-conservatism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Conservative principles </a>are founded in the belief that the government should have limited involvement in the everyday life of American citizens. The federal government’s power should be restricted to what is outlined in the constitution. American individuals and families should have the right to decide what is best for their religion, health, and welfare without government involvement. Taxes should be limited only to what is necessary to fund constitutionally appropriate functions. None of these principles have any bearing on someone’s race, religion, or nationality.

He focuses a majority of his research specifically on understanding the political views of Black Americans. Dr. Jefferson also often writes and speaks on white Americans and the threat that conservatives present to the United States.

On January 8, 2021, Dr. Jefferson <a href="https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/storming-the-u-s-capitol-was-about-maintaining-white-power-in-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote an article for FiveThirtyEight</a> accusing white Americans and conservatives of leading the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021, stating that it was because of their inability to accept the election results. He argues that it is not just coincidental that the people who stormed the Capitol were white and many conservatives are white. He further criticizes conservatives by stating that the storming of the Capitol symbolized white Americans’ violent belief that they should have an “unlimited hold” on power in the United States. According to Dr. Jefferson, actions like the storming of the Capitol are “to be expected” from white people whose power or identity is threatened by diversity.

The storming of the U.S. Capitol took place on January 6, 2021. Opposing the certification of election results, things turned tempestuous when some of the protestors decided to break into the Capitol. It has been <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/exclusive-fbi-finds-scant-evidence-us-capitol-attack-was-coordinated-sources-2021-08-20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">determined that these events were not planned</a> in advance or coordinated.

Dr. Jefferson <a href="https://twitter.com/hakeemjefferson/status/1323987468757073921" target="_blank" rel="noopener">frequently takes to Twitter</a> to discuss his political views. This was no different for the 2020 elections. In the tweet below, Dr. Jefferson points at conservatives for fear-mongering during the 2020 presidential election.

Dr. Jefferson repeatedly discusses the threat of white conservatives to America. He maintains that conservatives are a “dangerous mob of grievous white people” who are worried that their power is being threatened by minorities and diversity in politics. In a publication titled, <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/rh33nhu5m55e01k/Curious%20Case%20of%20Black%20Conservatives_Short.pdf?dl=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Curious Case of Black Conservatives”</a>, Dr. Jefferson details why he believes some black Americans identify as conservative. In his research, he claims that black Americans only identify as conservative because they don’t understand the meaning of the words “liberal” or “conservative.” In turn, black Americans who self-identify as “conservative” are wrong and are actually liberal. He states that black Americans’ results from the 7-point liberal-conservative scale cannot be trusted because they are not cognizant of the true meanings of the words.

The <a href="http://www-personal.umich.edu/~wmebane/fall01/gov317/nes48_98/node335.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">7-point liberal-conservative scale</a> asks, on a scale of 1 (extremely liberal) to 7 (extremely conservative), where people believe they fall. This scale is just one of a multitude of different ways a person’s political ideology can be determined or measured.

In the two years since graduating from the University of Michigan with his Ph.D. in Political Science, Dr. Jefferson has made many assertions about not only white, conservative Americans, but also black Americans. His research, teachings, and social media all indicate that he believes white conservatives are a “<a href="https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/storming-the-u-s-capitol-was-about-maintaining-white-power-in-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dangerous mob of grievous white people</a>,”  while black Americans don’t have the capacity or understanding to know the difference between being liberal and being conservative.

The <a href="https://explorecourses.stanford.edu/search?view=catalog&amp;filter-coursestatus-Active=on&amp;q=COLLEGE%20103:%20Globally%20Queer&amp;academicYear=20222023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">description for Crandall’s course, “Globally Queer,”</a> states: 
“After all, are LGBTQ+ identities and rights one size-fits-all? Do they become a way for Western nations to once again set the standards by which others are judged developmentally deficient? In certain societies reference to a 'traditional' national way of thinking about gender and sexuality is simply a fig leaf for homophobia and transphobia.”
Crandall considers herself a poet and playwright. She has published nine print works and several articles. Among her works is <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Nancy-Reagan-Collection-Maxe-Crandall/dp/1733038418" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Nancy Reagan Collection”</a> (1920), which, according to the description on Amazon, “is a response to growing up queer and trans under the rise of HIV-AIDS [during the Reagan era, the greatest era in American history]. Crossing genres and generations, this performance novel remixes the AIDS archive through an ever-spiraling politics and aesthetics of mourning.” 

The description further states, “Alternating chapters offer up a narrative throughline composed of hallucinogenic episodes from the perspective of a nameless, grieving protagonist in the midst of the global carnage of the Reagan dynasty. Part revenge, part fantasy, the book experiments with poetic practices that challenge conceptions of memory and morality, activism and escapism, grief and beauty.” On one page in “The Nancy Reagan Collection,” Crandall talks about Reagan’s “groping styles,” and a particular style of blouse she wears (see image below):

According to Zahurullah’s university profile, “last year, he served as the inaugural Abbasi-Markaz Fellow. This year, he will serve as the Anti-Islamophobia Teaching Fellow, a role in which he will work with Markaz staff to create a syllabus for and teach a 1-2 unit seminar through the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity titled ‘Interrogating Islamophobia.’”

Zahurullah told <a href="https://stanforddaily.com/2022/11/27/csre-30-stanfords-first-ever-course-on-addressing-islamophobia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Stanford Daily</a> that, “There are certain political groups on campus, namely Stanford College Republicans, who in years past have brought in very Islamophobic speakers.”

He also told The Stanford Daily, “We’re trying to understand what are all the different ways in which you can think about Islamophobia and how Islamophobia actually manifests, whether it’s explicit, like hate crimes and verbal abuse, or more systemic things like the Muslim ban that Trump tried to pass.” 

Regarding the course’s influence on student, Zaharullah “hopes the class sparks dialogue on the history of Islamophobic incidents on Stanford campus.”

He also appears to be <a href="https://africam.berkeley.edu/people/ameer-hasan-loggins/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">employed</a> by the University of California - Berkeley in the African American Studies and African Diaspora Studies Department. 

According to <a href="https://stanforddaily.com/2023/10/18/stanford-suspended-a-lecturer-for-identity-based-targeting-heres-what-students-say-happened/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Stanford Daily</a>, Loggins has been reported and investigated for “identity-based targeting of students, according to an Oct. 11 University statement.” 

The <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/10/13/stanford-teacher-suspended-for-singling-out-jewish-students/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> reports the following about Loggins’ actions in class in light of the Hamas terror attacks on Israel in October 2023: 
“The lecturer… reportedly justified the slaughter of more than 1,300 Israelis by Hamas terrorists over the weekend, saying it was part of Palestinians’ resistance.”
“The teacher then asked Jewish students to raise their hands, separated them from their belongings and ordered them to stand in a corner, saying that is what Jews were doing to Palestinians, according to Nourya Cohen, one of the Israeli association presidents.”  
Loggins also asked his class, “how many Jews died in the Holocaust?” After a student responded “6 million,” Loggins replied, “Yes. Only 6 million.”

The university addressed Loggins’ status, in “<a href="https://news.stanford.edu/report/2023/10/11/update-stanford-community/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">An Update for the Stanford Community</a>,”:
“We have received a report of a class in which a non-faculty instructor is reported to have addressed the Middle East conflict in a manner that called out individual students in class based on their backgrounds and identities. Without prejudging the matter, this report is a cause for serious concern. Academic freedom does not permit the identity-based targeting of students. The instructor in this course is not currently teaching while the university works to ascertain the facts of the situation.”

Ms. <a href="https://twhs.conroeisd.net/people/heidi-bardenhagen/">Heidi Bardenhagen</a> is an English teacher at The Woodlands High School in Houston, Texas. In audio recordings provided by an anonymous source, Ms. Bardenhagen can be heard making racist and offensive comments to her students during classroom lessons.
In one recording, Bardenhagen can be heard stating that “whites have power over blacks” and that discrimination in America did not end with slavery. She justifies her assertion by alleging that the Summer 2020 riots were the result of white privilege.

Ms. <a href="https://twhs.conroeisd.net/people/heidi-bardenhagen/">Heidi Bardenhagen</a> is an English teacher at The Woodlands High School in Houston, Texas. In audio recordings provided by an anonymous source, Ms. Bardenhagen can be heard making racist and offensive comments to her students during classroom lessons.

In one recording, Bardenhagen can be heard stating that “whites have power over blacks” and that discrimination in America did not end with slavery. She justifies her assertion by alleging that the Summer 2020 riots were the result of white privilege.

<a href="https://gsrosenthal.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gregory Samantha Rosenthal</a> is an Associate Professor of History, Coordinator of the Public History Concentration, and Co-Coordinator of the Gender and Women’s Studies Concentration at <a href="https://www.roanoke.edu/profiles/rosenthal_samantha" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Roanoke College</a>. According to his website, from 2024–2026 he will also be a Visiting Associate Professor of American History at Washington &amp; Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. 
Rosenthal, a “biological male,” uses feminine pronouns. In his book “<a href="https://muse.jhu.edu/article/766656" target="_blank" rel="noopener">How to Become a Woman</a>,” he even refers to himself as a “transgender dyke.” 
Rosenthal is an advocate for transgender rights. One of his major focuses of activism — and an academic focus as well — is the LGBTQ community and its history in Roanoke, Virginia. In his book “<a href="https://gsrosenthal.com/living-queer-history/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Living Queer History</a>,” Rosenthal writes:
“Roanoke is a prime example of a small city that has attracted queer and trans folks from the countryside, yet the city’s distinctive racial geographies mean that any space here for queer people has only been welcoming to some but not others. Roanoke’s queer map reveals disparate spaces of belonging among white folks versus Black folks, men versus women, cisgender versus trans folks. Queer fiefdoms, indeed.”
The book description reads:
“Queer history is a living practice. Talk to any group of LGBTQ people today, and they will not agree on what story should be told. Many people desire to celebrate the past by erecting plaques and painting rainbow crosswalks, but queer and trans people in the twenty-first century need more than just symbols—they need access to power, justice for marginalized people, spaces of belonging. Approaching the past through a lens of queer and trans survival and world-building transforms history itself into a tool for imagining and realizing a better future.”
In the introductory chapter of the book, Rosenthal addresses what led him and like-minded community members to become Roanoke-centered advocates for the LGBTQ community:
 “When Donald Trump was running for president in 2016, a community member came up with the slogan for our project: Make Roanoke Queer Again. This is the story of how we have attempted to do just that: the work of queering a city in a region known more for its Confederate monuments and socially conservative Bible thumping than for its LGBTQ heritage.”
In an <a href="https://gsrosenthal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/make-ronoke-queer-again-tph.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> titled, “Make Roanoke Queer Again Community History and Urban Change in a Southern City,” Rosenthal writes on the history of Roanoke and its relation to the LGBTQ community. The abstract for the article states the following of Roanoke’s history: 

“This essay explores intersections among urban history, queer history, and public history in a gentrifying southern city. I show how queer cultures flourished in Roanoke, Virginia, in the 1960s and 1970s only to be displaced by a combination of police repression, urban planning, and gentrification starting in the late 1970s and 1980s … This essay argues that queer community history projects can be a form of resistance to gentrification and a means to preserve our history from ’queer erasure.’”
Rosenthal claims the “#MakeRoanokeQueerAgain” bar crawls that he and his associates go on will help change the overall sexual preference of cities, especially that of Roanoke:
“Our #MakeRoanokeQueerAgain bar crawl is just one example of how community history projects can make cities queer again by renaming and reclaiming urban space, thereby resisting a gentrification that threatens to erase the queer past …  I want Roanoke to become just a little bit more queer.”

The comment is directed at Confederate General Robert E. Lee, who served as Washington and Lee’s President after the cessation of the Civil War. For years, protestors have <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/washington-and-lee-university-may-scrap-its-name-next-month-after-years-of-protest/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">demanded the removal of Lee from the university’s name and denounced the General for his connections to slavery.</a>

Dr. Casey was among 100 other professors at the university <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20200708003710/https://richmond.com/news/washington-and-lee-faculty-vote-to-change-the-universitys-name/article_c5141929-035b-598b-b2a5-2e29da73aa48.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who called for the removal of Lee from the university name in the summer of 2020</a>. The faculty voted by a margin of 79-21% for the removal of Lee's name. In a subsequent interview, he admits that many faculty voted out of concern that they would “end up on the wrong side” of history.

“We feel like we’re going to end up on the wrong side of this as an institution and that it will harm us...Everyone who was in that conversation feels that the best thing for our institution is to drop our affiliation with Lee.”

The board of Trustees would later vote 22-6 to keep the name while committing $225 million as part of a “strategic plan” to achieve racial equity.

<a href="https://www.bgsu.edu/arts-and-sciences/cultural-and-critical-studies/ethnic-studies/faculty-and-staff.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Timothy Messer-Kruse</a> is a Professor at Bowling Green State University. Kruse was a professor in the Ethnic Studies Department for 17 years, before transferring to the History Department in response to <a href="https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/135/sb83" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ohio Senate Bill 83</a>.
<a href="https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/download?key=20620&amp;format=pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Introduced</a> in March 2023, Ohio Senate Bill 83 is currently awaiting approval from the Ohio House and Governor. If passed, the bill will introduce new themes that all state institutions must include in a general education requirements course. According to an opinion piece Kruse wrote for <a href="https://www.dispatch.com/story/opinion/columns/guest/2023/03/17/impact-of-ohio-senate-bill-83-professor-republicans-making-me-quit-my-department/70016359007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Columbus Dispatch</a>, the course must cover “the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, ‘5 essays from the Federalist Papers,’ the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail.’”
Kruse says he will have no problem teaching all of the concepts and theories that he used to teach in the Ethnic Studies department. To prove this, he shared part of a syllabus he’s working on to meet these requirements:

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">“Week 1: Discuss leading theories of how the patriot’s determination to protect slavery led to the American Revolution and how the rise of “scientific” racism influenced Jefferson’s wording of the Declaration of Independence. </li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Week 2: Consider scholarly debates about the ways in which the U.S. Constitution advanced slavery and established a system of structural racism that denied African and Native Americans basic human rights. </li>

Kruse concludes his argument by writing:
“The operative theory underlying the tsunami of antiwoke legislation is that race (and sex/gender) are natural, given things that everyone should accept and no one should pay any attention to. This reflects a widespread public denial that scholars have gained any meaningful insights into the workings of racism or race itself. Such rejection is the inevitable consequence of seeing race as a natural and uncomplicated aspect of human experience and racism as a belief that can be as easily embraced as it is eschewed.”

<a href="https://www.bgsu.edu/arts-and-sciences/cultural-and-critical-studies/ethnic-studies/faculty-and-staff.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Timothy Messer-Kruse</a> is a Professor at Bowling Green State University. Kruse was a professor in the Ethnic Studies Department for 17 years, before transferring to the History Department in response to <a href="https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/135/sb83" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ohio Senate Bill 83</a>.

<a href="https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/download?key=20620&amp;format=pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Introduced</a> in March 2023, Ohio Senate Bill 83 is currently awaiting approval from the Ohio House and Governor. If passed, the bill will introduce new themes that all state institutions must include in a general education requirements course. According to an opinion piece Kruse wrote for <a href="https://www.dispatch.com/story/opinion/columns/guest/2023/03/17/impact-of-ohio-senate-bill-83-professor-republicans-making-me-quit-my-department/70016359007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Columbus Dispatch</a>, the course must cover “the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, ‘5 essays from the Federalist Papers,’ the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail.’”

Kruse says he will have no problem teaching all of the concepts and theories that he used to teach in the Ethnic Studies department. To prove this, he shared part of a syllabus he’s working on to meet these requirements:

Why did Jay, who claimed to be an abolitionist, drag his young slave Abbe to Paris? Why did he have her hunted and thrown into a dungeon (where she perished) when she ran away? </li>

<a href="https://www.umass.edu/communication/people/profile/sut-jhally">Dr. Sut Jhally</a> is a Professor of Communication at UMass-Amherst. He is infamous for his politically loaded Twitter account. He has tweeted that “The New Republican party - American Terrorist,” and that “The Second Amendment was ratified to preserve slavery.” He has also said that conservative Supreme Court justices are “frat-boy fascists” and that the media has demonized the late socialist dictator, Hugo Chavez.

Dr. <a href="https://people.clas.ufl.edu/polssdw/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sharon D. Wright Austin</a> is a Professor of Political Science at the <a href="https://www.ufl.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Florida. </a>

As listed in her university profile, Dr. Austin’s research focuses on African-American political behavior, African-American political activism, and African-American women’s political behavior.  

During an interview, Dr. Austin <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2022-10-14/how-race-entered-the-midterms-in-the-guise-of-crime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused conservatives of using “coded language” to appeal to bigoted voting blocks</a>:

"I think it's really just coded language, and it's not uncommon…While in the mid-20th century, candidates would openly use racial epithets, that changed later in the century, when GOP candidates would talk about busing and "states' rights.””

Her comments appeared in a US News and World Report article titled, “When ‘Crime’ is Code for ‘Race’.” She further claimed that “crime” and “socialism” are dog whistles for racists. 

In another article, Dr. Austin condemns the United States for <a href="https://www.governing.com/now/what-does-the-united-states-have-against-haitian-refugees" target="_blank" rel="noopener">targeting Haitian migrants with “anti-black racism.”</a> 

Noting that immigrants from Haiti are less likely to be granted political asylum than immigrants from other countries, Dr. Austin attributes this disparity to racism. She further accuses border patrol agents of beating Haitian migrants with rods: 

“These immigration issues alone don’t prove the existence of anti-black racism and we know that it is necessary to secure the border, but we have to ask ourselves two questions. Why is the number of Haitian migrants allowed to enter this country so much smaller than that of other nationalities? And when securing the border, can we really allow Haitians, or anyone else, to be beaten with rods by angry men on horseback?”

Although the <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/07/08/border-agents-falsely-accused-of-whipping-migrants-punishment/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">incident was later determined to be a hoax</a>, the story had already circulated widely among progressive activists. 

In addition to her professorial duties, Dr. Austin is a co-author of the upcoming book <a href="https://global.oup.com/academic/product/beyond-racial-capitalism-9780192868336?cc=us&amp;lang=en&amp;#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Beyond Racial Capitalism.”</a> According to the description, that book aims to highlight “anti-racist” cooperatives developed by the African diaspora.

<a href="https://people.clas.ufl.edu/rabreu26/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Roberto L. Abreu</a> is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida. According to his biography and the description of his organization, the “<a href="https://cheverelab.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chevere Lab</a>, Abreu's research “explores ways in which marginalized communities resist systemic oppression” The Lab even offers <a href="https://cheverelab.com/chvere-resources" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resources for parents of LGBT children</a>, namely how they can evade bans on gender transitions of minors.

In an article for <a href="https://theconversation.com/transgender-people-of-color-face-unique-challenges-as-gender-discrimination-and-racism-intersect-179515" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation,</a> Abreu alleges that transgender people were revered in cultures around the world. Europeans, he writes, introduced a gender binary to invalidate trans people and force them into “white social norms.” Abreu blames colonial oppression, Christianity, and “anti-blackness” for modern bigotry against trans people. 

“...European colonizers began forcing indigenous people to follow white social norms. These include anti-Blackness, Christianity and [SIC] a gender binary that reduced gender to just man and woman.” 

Abreu further lists racism, xenophobia, and cisnormativity as several of the many types of oppression that trans people face. He attacks “cisgender” doctors for “deadnaming” patients and attempting to cure trans people based on what they believe bodies should look like. 

He concludes that trans people should take pride in their gender and ethnic identity in the face of racism, sexism, and “transmisogynoir,” or the intersection of anti-Black racism, cissexism and sexism. Cisgender people, he continues, should “leverage [their] privilege to support trans people of color.”

Abreu believes the most influential support a trans child can receive comes from school teachers and staff. Writing in the <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/335420691_Supporting_Transgender_Students_School_Counselors%27_Preparedness_Training_Efforts_and_Necessary_Support" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Journal of LGBT Youth</a>, Abreu advocates for counselors to become the focal point to support trans kids in the light of “oppressive policies and laws (that) significantly impact the psychological and academic well-being of transgender students in the United States.” 

Trans oppression is a common theme throughout Abreu’s work, with a particular focus on transgender children. He often condemns conservative states for passing legislation he claims will “suffocate” trans children.

In a separate paper—titled, “<a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/317633080_Myths_and_Misconceptions_About_LGBTQ_Youth_School_Counselors%27_Role_in_Advocacy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Myths and Misconceptions About LGBTQ Youth</a>”— Abreu writes that counselors must become “active advocates” for gay and transgender children. The paper attempts to debunk “myths” held by parents and students that “harm” LGBTQ students.  

One “myth” Abreu lists is the idea that “Parents must be informed of their child’s sexual and gender identity.” He encourages school employees to withhold information about students, as “revealing their sexual and/or gender identity to parents might have detrimental effects for the youth.” 

Abreu further disputes that gender-neutral bathrooms are unsafe. He claims that gender-specific bathrooms infringe on the rights of “gender expansive” students, and “no scientific data supports the claim that trans-inclusive or gender-inclusive facilities pose a threat or are unsafe to any particular individual.”

<a href="https://www.angeladecarlis.com/_files/ugd/08fd76_4f6be4a3869e473b8843ae34b2352a1c.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Angela DeCarlis</a> serves as an Art Instructor at the University of Florida as well as “Founder &amp; Lead Artist” in the group, “<a href="https://www.figureondiversity.com/about" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Figure on Diversity.</a>”

DeCarlis—who <a href="https://remix.berklee.edu/able-assembly-conference/64/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">describes</a> herself as a “white, queer, invisibly disabled, cis-passing person in a straight-passing relationship,” and possessing ”thin privilege”—hosts art workshops that feature fat, disabled, transgender, and nude models. 

DeCarlis aims to displace what she describes as universities’ tendency to only hire “<a href="https://www.wbur.org/news/2019/07/26/diversity-figure-drawing-modeling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">white, thin, able-bodied models</a>.” She further attacked the “hyper-idealized, male, Greco-Roman forms” used in art for allegedly <a href="https://remix.berklee.edu/able-assembly-conference/64/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">perpetuating</a> “harmful ideas” about bodies. 

In her most recent exhibit, DeCarlis <a href="https://www.alligator.org/article/2023/06/figure-on-diversity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">describes</a> her preferred models as “people of color, fat, disabled, members of the LGBTQ community,” or otherwise “oppressed:” 
“It’s really important for the models who have been oppressed on the basis of their appearance to have the opportunity to be seen.”

DeCarlis’ subsequent exhibit on June 11th, 2023 will recruit transgender-identifying teenagers and other “gender-diverse” persons under 18. Attendees will spend three days observing and drawing transgender and other “gender-expansive models.”

DeCarlis hopes the workshop will give “transgender” youth the chance to be “proud” of their bodies and learn from other adults who have transitioned. 
“[Age] 16 to 24 is a really vulnerable time—your body is going through a lot of changes…And for trans youth, these changes can be really traumatizing.”

<a href="https://afam.clas.ufl.edu/directory/dr-julia-m-mollenthiel/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julia Mollenthiel</a> is an Assistant Professor in the African American Studies Program at the University of Florida. She teaches several courses including, “Black Feminist Theory,” “Afro-Futurism,” and “Black Horror, White Terror.”

The <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/642780162/Black-Horror-White-Terror-syllabus-at-the-University-of-Florida" target="_blank" rel="noopener">course syllabus</a> for “Black Horror, White Terror” says:
“We will probe the genre of horror and its trends with a particular focus on representations of racial Otherness and racism. We will also consider the relationship between horror and Black literary modes and traditions focusing on key moments that depict fears of Blackness and/or the terror associated with being Black in America. This course will study the works of Black authors and producers as a way to explore racial identity and oppression.” 
Students in the course are <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12062269/Now-FRANKENSTEIN-racist-University-Florida-claims-monster-parallels-racial-stereotypes.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">required to read</a> classic works such as “Frankenstein” and Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” and study how they have “affected racialized discourse.” One required reading—”<a href="https://www.jstor.org/stable/44321873" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Power and Horror of Whiteness</a>”—claims Poe was “haunted” by black people based on his fiction writings.

Another required reading is an academic article titled “<a href="https://www.jstor.org/stable/651092" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Frankenstein’s Monster and Images of Race in Nineteenth-Century Britain</a>.” <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/university-florida-offers-class-examining-white-terror-frankenstein-other-classic-texts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> writes that the article offers a “racial reading” of Frankenstein through “the Marxist and the feminist location of the novel in the social and psychological context of the times.” The article's thesis claims “Shelley’s portrayal of her monster drew upon … contemporary attitudes towards non-whites.”

The course has the same name as Mollenthiel’s <a href="https://scholarship.miami.edu/esploro/outputs/doctoral/Black-Horror-White-Terror/991031606757602976#files_and_links" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dissertation</a>, where she writes:
“My concept of horrifying whiteness offers an avenue for Black resistance by disrupting the centuries-old whiteness as innocence and blackness as culpability narrative; and my concept of crippling fear versus empowering fear offers an opportunity to prove the advantages/disadvantages of Black fear.” 
Mollenthiel’s syllabus states that “No lesson is intended to espouse, promote, advance, inculcate, or compel a particular feeling, perception, viewpoint, or belief.” <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/u-florida-class-examines-white-terror-in-frankenstein-and-other-classics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The College Fix</a> noted that this could be in reference to the state’s pending Stop WOKE Act, which regulates what content cannot be taught in public universities.

According to <a href="https://jweekly.com/2020/12/21/uc-merced-professor-deletes-antisemitism-laden-twitter-account/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Jewish News of California</a>, in June of 2023 Ghassemi tweeted, “… reality bites!!!!!!” accompanied by an image of “The Zionist Brain.”

“[T]he Zionists and IsraHell interest have embedded themselves in every component of the American system, media, banking, policy, commerce … just a veneer of serving US interest and population — everyone pretends that is the case.”
When Jewish News sent a request for comment to Ghassemi regarding his social media commentary, his Twitter account was deleted. 
A UC-Merced spokesperson distanced the university from Ghassemi’s antisemitic tweets: 
“As the now-inactive Twitter account made clear, these were the opinions of a private individual, not the positions of the institution.”
As of October 2023, Ghassemi remains employed as a faculty member at UC Merced despite his previous anti-semitic commentary on Twitter.

Rosemarie Bongers is a self-proclaimed mathematician, educator, and “transgender woman” (a biological male who identifies as female) at the University of California-Merced. On his <a href="https://sites.ucmerced.edu/rosemarie/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">faculty profile</a>, Bongers includes “she/her or they/them” and images of various LGBTQ+ flags.

“For me, being transgender is a source of joy and the deepest happiness that I’ve felt; it’s also a source of struggle, challenge, discrimination, and emotional labor. This identity and awareness permeate every aspect of my life, my career, and my living in American society in 2024.”
Bongers explained “transgender” terminology and how “important” it is to use preferred names and pronouns.

While staffing a TPUSA table at the University of California, Merced (UC Merced), a TPUSA Field Representative was harassed by protestors who blockaded the table.
Among these protesters, was Professor Bongers, who proceeded to argue with the TPUSA Field Representative Madison Mueller. (See videos below).

&#8220;Oh I&#8217;m here to try to change your mind, and if I fail, I want you to know that I despise absolutely everything that this organization you’re standing behind promotes.”
Another student entered the argument in defense of free speech, telling the professor that they had the right to discuss their differences in an open forum. This prompted a hostile response from Bongers, who disagreed with the student’s sentiment:  
&#8220;Im going to go off of my little prepared rant for just a second: this is Bulls*** that you are pretending that we&#8217;re here to have a civil discourse and argue as equals and then at the end of the day we agree to disagree agreeably and we go our separate ways.&#8221; 
Bongers then complained of his status as one allegedly “targeted by the government” and recorded on the TPUSA Professor Watchlist:

<a href="https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/chemistry/faculty/andre-k-isaacs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Andre K. Isaacs</a> is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the College of the Holy Cross. Isaacs is an outspoken member of the LGBT community who wears drag and rainbows to class. <a href="https://polisci.ucsd.edu/people/faculty/faculty-directory/adjunct-faculty/fletcher-profile.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nathan Fletcher</a> is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Political Science at the University of California &#8211; San Diego. The University <a href="https://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/feature/nathan_fletcher_named_first_professor_of_practice_at_uc_san_diego" target="_blank" rel="noopener">describes</a> the position as one that brings “distinguished professionals” who are “leaders in their fields.”  In addition, Fletcher serves as the <a href="https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/general/bos.html">Chair</a> of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
During an online strategy session with California Democratic Party leaders to oppose the ongoing efforts to recall Governor Gavin Newsom, Fletcher began his <a href="https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/communities/east-county/santee/story/2021-02-11/santee-council-approves-letter-chastising-county-supervisor-nathan-fletcher" target="_blank" rel="noopener">remarks</a> referencing the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill.
According to <a href="https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displayText.xhtml?lawCode=CONS&amp;article=II" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Article II, Section 13-20 of the  California Constitution</a>, a sitting Governor of the state may be recalled, or voted out of office, in the middle of his term for virtually any reason. An election for governor is automatically triggered if petitioners gather enough signatures to match 12% of the total voter turnout of the previous Governor&#8217;s election, equivalent to 1.5 million signatures in 2021, within 160 days of initially filing the petition. As of February 2021, organizers <a href="https://www.ktvn.com/story/43421481/petition-to-recall-governor-gavin-newsom-passes-level-needed-to-potentially-trigger-recall-election">announced</a> that 1.8 million Californians have signed the recall petition.
Fletcher labels President Donald Trump an existential threat to our country, then proceeds to refer to conservatives that are taking part in the recall effort of Gov. Newsom as “Neo-Nazis” and white supremacists.
In the Zoom <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyfhl9SLAjI&amp;ab_channel=KUSINews" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recording</a> that is listed below, Fletcher refers to the riots as “terrorism” and asks his fellow Democratic party members to denounce them. Fletcher references his combat experience as a Marine to draw parallels between his training to defend American embassies to the “storming” of the capitol by “enemies of America.”

Butler is currently being sued by a student for assault and battery. She allegedly attacked the student for not transporting bugs and flammable liquids. According to the student, he was trying to respect federal and state laws regarding the transportation and removal of these specific fluids and native bugs.

Harron wrote, &#8220;If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power. That’s right, please quit. Too difficult? Well, as a first step, at least get off your hiring committee, your curriculum committee, and make sure you’re replaced by a woman of color or trans person.&#8221; She also wrote, &#8220;What can universities do? Well, that’s easier. Stop hiring white cis men (except as needed to get/retain people who are not white cis men) until the problem goes away. If you think this is a bad or un-serious idea, your sexism/racism/transphobia is showing.&#8221;

UHN says that “queer dance” “can be traced back to the 1980s, [and] was born out of gay and lesbian dance clubs and ballroom culture and has been widely popularized on stage by pop artists such as Lady Gaga and Madonna.”
According to UHN, “Queer dance also features performing art forms such as impersonation, lip-synching and pantomime. The UH Mānoa course incorporates techniques and choreography created by Asian and Pacific Islander māhū (identity with male and female characteristics) here in Hawaiʻi.”
Akuna is also a drag queen who goes by the stage name of “Cocoa Chandelier” (see image below). According to his university profile, as a drag queen, Akuna “travels continuously as an advocate and spokesperson for HIV/AIDS, and is a long standing member with the United Territories of Pacific Islanders in Alliance that serves the Native Pacific Island and MVPFAFF+ community across the Hawaiian islands and the Pacific.”

Hodge’s university profile says her work “uses historical and qualitative methods, as well as social network analysis, to understand the charging nature of strategies for educational equity.”
Hodge is one of three professors who reportedly <a href="https://kappanonline.org/community-concerns-crthodge-lope-rosenberg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">authored a document to provide talking points</a> to teachers when parents ask about critical race theory (CRT) curriculum. The document — “How to respond to community concerns about critical race theory — was published by Kappan Online: 
“We think education leaders should respond boldly and strategically. We believe there are positive elements of CRT that can help students ‘unpack and rethink the social construct of race that divides so much of U.S. society.’ Therefore school and district leaders must support teachers in including discussions about race n education in ways that aligned with CRT principles.”
Hodge et al., continued,
“Proactive messaging can prevent leaders from falling into the trap of reactively defending their practices and letting those with the most extreme views set the direction of the conversation…Mentioning CRT directly draws the reader’s attention to a concept that has a negative connotation and an unclear meaning…A message of unity, on the other hand, speaks to many individuals…”
The document goes on to list and describe methods for countering questions about the contents of CRT in the classroom.
