BSU Female Athletes Refuse To Compete Against Biological Males
Published – October 11, 2024
In September 2024, female volleyball players at Boise State University (BSU) forfeited a game against San Jose State University (SJSU). One report said the undefeated team from SJSU allows a “transgender” student-athlete (a biological male) named Blaire Fleming to play against women. Neither college offered a public comment on the situation but SJSU spokesperson Michelle Smith McDonald stated:
“We are operating our program under the regulations of both NCAA and the Mountain West, and our student-athletes are in full compliance with the NCAA rules and regulations.”
Turning Point USA Contributor Riley Gaines filed a lawsuit against the NCAA for violating Title IX and the Fourteenth Amendment. Gaines gained momentum in the culture war after losing her NCAA swimming championship to a man named Will “Lia” Thomas. In August, Gaines and other women forced to share a locker room with Thomas appeared before the Georgia State Senate.
SJSU player Brooke Slusser joined Gaines’ lawsuit. Idaho Governor Brad Little and Joshua Whitworth, the executive director of the Idaho Department of Education, commended the athletes from BSU.
